D.A.R. records have him serving in Rev.War,2nd Co.,8th Bn,Lancaster Co.Militia, they list birth as 9-25-1766 (rather than 9-22) but have same died date. The 1810 census shows him as household of JACOB BACKENSTOP in Halifaxtown,Dauphin Co.,PA with: 1M LT 10, 1M 10-16, 1M GT 45 and 1F LT 10, 2F 10-16, 1F 26-45, 1F GT 45 (where: M=Male, F=Female, LT=LessThan, GT=GreaterThan) .
